Wedding & Celebratory Butterfly Releases

Butterfly Release Envelopes, Baskets, Boxes, and Other Containers and Accessories

Butterflies may be released from various containers and envelopes.

Prices range from free to several hundred dollars for large centerpieces. Butterflies are rarely included with the price of a release container. Release baskets, boxes, and baskets are priced separately.

Check with your butterfly farmer to determine the choices your particular farmer offers. Release containers and envelopes can be crafted by the person planning the event instead of purchasing a ready-made container. Some farmers offer the option, with an extra fee, of color coordinating the release container with the event's color scheme.

Some farmers offer personalization of butterfly release envelopes and containers.

Monarchs are not able to grasp that they are inside glass when placed in a glass or plastic container with clear sides. They will try to walk through the sides. This doesn't hurt the butterfly but may make guests uneasy. Place Monarch butterflies in containers with screen or net on the sides.

Painted Lady butterflies are very content in any type of release container, especially if the flowers are misted with 10% sugar water!
