AFB is dedicated to using the following methods to educate everyone, member or non-member:

- Experienced and new butterfly farmers
AFB is dedicated to teach farmers, teachers, and brokers how to:
- Rear healthy butterflies
- Market butterflies (from egg through adult) as well as other ‘products’ from a farm or business
- Advertise successfully with little or no cost
- Learn how to derive income from other means than directly from butterflies
- Watch the income from our businesses exceed the expenses of our businesses
- Share what we learn with each other
