Tour Tips And Guidelines

Tour tips and guidelines:

Butterfly Farm tours are becoming increasingly popular. Some farms set specific hours for tours while others allow walk-in farm tours.

Some farmers will tour guests without a fee; other farmers require a fee for each tour.

If you have a tip or trick, suggestion or idea, please submit it to Contact Us.

Tour Tips:

Dancing Caterpillars
When your guests are visiting your larvae rearing area, open a Monarch larvae container and sing with a deep voice and a strong beat to the larvae. They will, in most instances, 'dance' to the music. Vary the beat so it will be obvious to all that they are responding to noise. Ask if someone has a birthday that month and sing 'Happy Birthday'. Explain that the caterpillars are dancing for the birthday child. Monarchs, Queens, Soldiers, and Oleander Moths all respond to music and loud, deep noises.
